The Crop Production unit focuses on the study and practice of growing various crops for food, industrial, and commercial purposes. It equips students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in seed selection, land preparation, planting, crop management, pest and disease control, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.
Students learn modern and sustainable farming techniques, including irrigation, soil fertility management, organic farming, and the use of improved crop varieties to increase yield and ensure food security. The program also emphasizes environmental stewardship and the application of technology in crop production. Graduates are prepared for careers in commercial farming, agribusiness, research, extension services, and agricultural consultancy.
